Stockwell Stacking Inspiration
I had a lovely day off on Monday as I had worked all weekend (that will now be referred to as Smonday) and spent the afternoon wandering around Stockwell and Brixton with Naveena. I was in one of those moods when I wanted to wander and spot things, take photos, chat, pop into different places. We were a few minutes into our walk when I saw this and had to take a photo. I loved the simple ingenuity of it- thrifty and smart.
We continued our walk past the Stockwell Garage, with the font and lighting that I so liked. There died my battery and so the images remind imprinted in my memory. We ended up in Brixton weaving around the market. Before too long I was in another place where the same font appeared before my eyes- Rosie’s Deli (check out her book title for the font). I know Rosie from school when we met about age 12. So it is interesting to see where we both have ended up.
I almost bought another chitenge (African wrap) but somehow managed to refrain myself; laughed out loud at the sign hanging on a carpet with a tiger on it that said ‘Do not feed the lion tiger; was amused and vexed in equal measure by the sullen Italian waitress at Franco Mancaand continued home stopping off for a nata and an apero before heading further south to surprise a friend during n0n-Valentine’s dinner. A good day with plenty of inspiration.
